Herbs for Babies and Kids

dscn3308_2As a parent, there is no greater wish than to have a healthy, happy child. How do you keep your child healthy? What comes to mind? Nutrition? Doctors visits? Outdoor activity? How about natural medicines like herbal tea, essential oils or homeopathy? If you are like most Americans, you probably rely on some natural health care options, but maybe not that much…

Talking to countless parents and their children, natural medicines, especially herbs are intimidating to use. Why? Most of us just don’t know all that much about them. Along our history, we lost our knowledge of plant medicines. We handed over our inherent knowledge of native medicinal plant uses to rely solely on what our medical doctors tell us is best. There is a healthy balance between doctor’s visits and alternative healthcare. Wouldn’t it feel good to know that there are things you can do at home to address your child’s health needs, while simultaneously relying on your doctor for regular screenings, check-ups, and medications when needed?

I feel extremely grateful that my children are healthy. Without my herbal training though, I don’t think I would have known that there are hundreds and hundreds of plants to help me along the way. Learning about herbal medicine is empowering. I feel good knowing that there are allies for health, right out my backdoor.

That is why I am excited to share my upcoming interactive class with you – Herbs for Babies and Kids. This has been the most requested topic by parents here in Carbondale. They have expressed the desire to want to use herbs, but admit they just aren’t confident in how to use them, or which herbs are safe for children.

  • Herbal babies and kids pantry – herbs to have on hand
  • Proper dosing and use
  • Best ways to get your kids to take herbs
  • Other natural health care tools to use
  • When to call your doctor
  • Herb and drug interaction – safety measures

I am looking forward to sharing this important information with you, parent to parent. I have not only taken care of my family with herbs, but have helped countless families navigate simple, safe and effective ways to incorporate herbal medicine into their own lives. I believe that intuition may be the most valuable tool when it comes to healthcare. If you have been feeling like you could do more, trust me, you can, with simple natural medicines from the earth.

I leave you with this, slow down, trust yourself, don’t be afraid to ask for help and above all, believe in your body’s capacity to heal itself. You are a wonderful parent!
